Welcome to Conservation Off Reserve

Conservation Off Reserve (COR) is a forum about biodiversity conservation outside of the formal reserve system, and in particular on farmland.

Biodiversity is in crisis. Species are being lost at 100 to 1,000 times the normal background rate. The world’s network of protected areas are simply not enough to stop the decline.

This blog is dedicated to conservation ideas that operate ‘off reserve’, outside of the formal protected area network. The focus is on agricultural landscapes, the main land use on every inhabited continent.

The people behind this blog are a group conservation researchers in Australia and from around the world.
